Subject: Appointment to the post of whole-time Member of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
1. Name of the Post : Whole-time Member
2. Vacancy: There is one vacant post of whole-time Member in TRAI.
3. Qualifications: The qualifications for appointment to the post as derived from Section 4 of the TRAI Act, are as follows:
a) A person having special knowledge of, and professional experience in telecommunication, industry, finance, accountancy, law, management or consumer affairs.
b) PROVIDED that such a person who is, or has been, in the service of Government shall, not be appointed as a member unless such person has held the post of Secretary, or Additional Secretary, or the post of Additional Secretary and Secretary to the Government of India or any equivalent post in the Central Government or the State Government for a period of not less than three years.
Age:
The tenure of the post is for a term not exceeding three years or till the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
