Qualification Details:
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. Kochi Refinery invites application from eligible candidates for ‘Medical Officers on contract basis’ at Kochi Refinery, Ambalamugal, Kochi.

1. Post Name: Medical Officer

2. The candidate shall:

i) possess MBBS degree from a University recognized by the Medical Council of India (self attested copy of the MBBS degree certificate should be submitted). 

ii) have completed house surgency and should have registered with the Travancore Cochin Medical council, Trivandrum (self attested copy should be submitted).

iii) not have completed 58 years as on 1 st January, 2022.

iv) possess Aadhaar card, PAN card and savings Bank account

3. The Medical Officers will be paid remuneration of Rs 3,500/- (Rupees Three thousand five hundred only) per shift duty. The remuneration will be the same for all the days, irrespective of it being Saturday, Sunday, Holiday or Hartal day. It will also be the same for all the three shift duties.

4. The duties of the Medical officer shall include:

a) General outpatient treatment.

b) Basic first aid treatment for emergencies, injuries, etc.

c) Escorting patients in the ambulance on a need basis.

d) Co-ordination with hospitals where employees or their dependents are admitted. 

e) Pre-employment and Periodic medical examination of Contract and Permanent employees. 

f) Any other duties as assigned from time to time, during the duty hours.

List of Documents (self-attested photocopies) to be attached along with the application:

a) MBBS degree certificate and marklist.

b) House Surgency completion certificate. 

c) Certificate of Registration with ‘The Travancore-Cochin Council of Modern Medicine.

d) Experience certificate, if any.

e) Age proof (SSC or SSLC certificate/birth certificate issued by local administration.

f) Aadhar Card. 

g) PAN Card. 

h) Colour Passport size photograph to be pasted at the top right corner of the application.

Terms and Conditions:
1. The Medical officer who is engaged on contract basis will be included in the panel of Medical Officers and will be engaged as per requirement and shall

2. Since the OHC is functioning on all the days of a year, the services of the Medical officer should be available at the OHC on all the days of the year, depending upon the shift schedule, and also to meet the emergency requirements.

3. The Medical officers can have Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner from the officers dining hall during their working hours.

4. The Medical officers should make their own arrangements for to and fro transportation for attending work

5. The period of contract shall be for one year from the date of commencement of the contract, which can be extended at the discretion of the Corporation.

6. The Medical Officers will be paid remuneration of Rs 3,500/- (Rupees Three thousand five hundred only) per shift duty.

7. The remuneration will be the same for all the days, irrespective of it being Saturday, Sunday, Holiday or Hartal day. It will also be the same for all the three shift duties.

8. Payment in respect of the professional services rendered by the Medical Officer will be calculated on a monthly basis based on the total number of Eight hour shift duties done.

9. As per usual practice, TDS at the rate of 10% will be deducted from the amount payable. The same will not be deducted if a copy of the exemption certificate under Sec. 197 of the IT act is produced along with the monthly invoice / bill.

10. The Medical officers shall attend the HSE training provided by Kochi Refinery, before joining duty.

11. The engagement of the Medical officer is purely temporary, on Contract basis and can be terminated by giving one month’s notice from either side. 

12. The Medical officers will not have any claim for regular appointment in BPCL by virtue of they having worked in BPCL – Kochi Refinery OHC on a contract basis. He / she shall not move to any court / authority for seeking regularization based on the contract engagement.

13. The Medical officer will not be eligible for any of the benefits that are given to the regular employees.

14. The Management reserves the right to call for interview only the suitable candidates. Management may at its discretion, raise / relax the eligibility criteria in-order to restrict the number of candidates or to make available sufficient number of candidates to be called for interview.

How to Apply :
1. Interested candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria may submit their application on an A4 size paper (Format furnished below) to Chief Manager (HRD), BPCL – Kochi Refinery, Ambalamugal, Kochi – 682 302 by or before 22.11.2021.

2. The application should be sent in an envelope that is superscribed with “Application for Medical Officer on Contract Basis”.

3. There is no application fee. All applicants should have a valid/active email ID which should be kept active during this selection process.

4. Incomplete applications and applications not fulfilling the eligibility criteria would be “Rejected”.

5. Applications received after 5.00 pm on 22.11.2021 will not be considered.
