3. It is proposed to fill up one post of Deputy Superintending Epigraphist (Dravidian Inscriptions) Group A (Gazetted) Non-Ministerial in Level-10 of the Pay Matrix Rs.56100-177500/- in Archaeological Survey of India by deputation (including short term contract) from officers under the Central Government, State Governments, Union Territories, Public Sector Undertaking. Universities, Recognized Research Institutions or Semi- Government, Statutory or Autonomous Organizations; holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or with three years' service in grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in posts in the pay band- 2, Rs.9300- 34800 plus grade pay of Rs. 4600 or equivalent in the parent cadre or department; and
4. Possess ing the following educational qualifications and experience: Master's Degree in Tamil or Telugu or Malayalam or Kannada with Ancient Indian History as a subject at Bachelor's Degree level from a recognized University: or Master's Degree in History with ancient Indian History as a subject and Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada as one of the subjects at Bachelor's Degree level from a recognized University. Five years' experience in copying. deciphering and editing of inscriptions in the concerned discipline. Doctorate Degree in any of the above subjects.
5. Initial place of posting: Office of Director Epigraphy (Sanskrit and Dravidian Inscriptions), Archaeological Survey of India, Epigraphy Branch, Mysore.
Age:
The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation (including short term contract) shall not be exceeding fifty six years as on closing date of the receipt of application.
