In order to provide technical support/guidance to Geoscientists of E&P department towards self-sufficiency and guidance in drilling operations in exploration activities, IndianOil is looking for a Geologist & Drilling Engineer Consultant for contract engagement on temporary basis.
i. The details of the academic and professional requirement and also the terms and conditions for contract engagement are given below:
1. Position: Consultant - Geologist

3. Place of Posting: New Delhi
4. Qualification & Experience:
The candidate should have post graduate degree in Applied Geology/ Geology from a reputed & recognized Institute / University in India or abroad. The candidate should have minimum 20 years of professional experience of petroleum exploration in India covering the whole spectrum of exploration, development and production asset. Higher qualification and additional relevant experience will be accorded more weightage.
5. The candidate should have hands on experience in using various software available in the industry for seismic data interpretation viz. Petrel, Decision Space or equivalent software prevailing in the industry.
6,.The candidate should have professional experience of petroleum exploration including but not limited to:
i. Broad exposure on structural geology of the reservoir textures and structures. Experience of 2D and 3D seismic data interpretation, sequence stratigraphic analysis, sedimentary facies and depositional environment analysis. Analysis of well log data and its integration with seismic and geological data Experience of estimation of resources, reserves under various categories (Society of Petroleum Engineering/Petroleum Resource Management System etc.)
ii. Experience and exposure of evaluation of exploration, discovered and produced assets (conventional/ unconventional) of various basins in India and around the world Understanding of Indian and international Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) and Joint Operating Agreements (JOAs).
7. Emoluments: Maximum Rs. 10,000/- all-inclusive per day (excluding GST)
8. Duration of Contract: One year (150 days in a year with provision of two extensions of one year each). This post is purely temporary and only against the specific contract location indicated above and unless terminated earlier, is at the maximum co-terminus with the contract with customer/project
9. Job Description (including but not limited to):
Geological / Geophysical evaluation of blocks / fields for prospect assessment, volumetric assessment, reserves estimation, risk analysis & ranking of the prospects. Quality control and management of 2D and 3D seismic data interpretation. Sequence stratigraphic analysis, sedimentary facies and depositional environment analysis, Quantitative Interpretation of geophysical data,
ii. Analysis of well log data and its integration with seismic and geological data. Estimation of reserves/ resources, generation of production profiles and field development strategies under different scenario of reservoir. Evaluation of existing field development plans and its optimization. To build up the technical capability of geoscientists of E&P group.
10. Job Functions (including but not limited to): Day-to-day monitoring of existing assets and apprising the management for mitigating the sub-surface risks involved. Exploring the new opportunities for acquisition of assets. Critical review of the block / basin data available with the National Data Repository (NDR) for selection & bidding for the domestic blocks. Developing project specific monitoring system for producing assets and non-producing assets.

4. Qualification & Experience:
The candidate should have BE / B. Tech. (Mechanical / Petroleum Engineering) degree or equivalent qualification from a reputed and recognized University / Institute. He should have minimum 20 years of professional experience in drilling engineering services in India or abroad in the area of Oil & Gas exploration/development/production. Higher qualification and additional relevant experience will be accorded more weightage.
5. The candidate should have professional experience in drilling engineering services including but not limited to:
Planning and execution of drilling exploratory and development wells in onshore and offshore blocks / fields. Experience of designing casing & mud parameters, well testing, rig scheduling, drilling services related contracting and other drilling related services.

Planning of drilling operations and detailed designing of wells. Providing guidance in hiring of rig and related services and materials for drilling operations.Guidance during execution of drilling operation and helping in decision making during drilling operation. Review of work and outputs of Project Management Consultants for drilling operations. Review of all drilling related issues in IndianOil’s various projects.
10. Job Functions (including but not limited to): Planning of drilling operations and scheduling. Facilitate in hiring rig and related services Perform and facilitate rig scheduling, drilling permit applications, selection of drilling locations and associated planning Design well casing, mud parameters. Specify equipment and procedures. Prepare detailed well estimates.
