7. Educational Qualification:
i. Electrician/ Fitter/ Structural Fitter: The candidate should have Passed SSC in FIRST ATTEMPT with General Science & Mathematics
i) Securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General / OBC / SEBC/EWS / AFC / DIVYANG,
ii) Pass Class for SC/ST in First Attempt Only. iii) In case of passing criteria is best of 5 subjects taken ,General Science & Mathematics Should be the Part of the Qualifying Board Curriculum & Candidate should have passed in First Attempt , Otherwise Application will be rejected.
iii) Pass Class for SC/ST in First Attempt Only. Though the qualifying criteria is SSC, the candidates with Higher qualification may also apply. However, eligibility will be based on SSC marks qualification only.
8. Pipe Fitter: The candidate should have Passed SSC in FIRST ATTEMPT i) Securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General / OBC /EWS / AFC / DIVYANG,
ii) Pass Class for SC/ST in First Attempt Only. iii) In case of passing criteria is best of 5 subjects taken , Candidate should have passed all subjects in First Attempt, Otherwise Application will be rejected.

9. Group “B”(I.T.I Passed): I.C.T.S.M./ Electronic Mechanic/ Carpenter/ Structural Fitter (Ex. ITI Fitter):
i. Passed in first attempt in respective trades from Govt./ Govt recognized Institute. i) Securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General / OBC / SEBC/EWS / AFC / DIVYANG, ii) Pass Class for SC/ST in First Attempt Only.
ii. In case of Fitter-Structural Passed ITI in the trade of Fitter and in case of ICTSM, Carpenter & Electronic Mech. in the respective trades with the condition as stated above. ITI Passed Candidates Other than Information & Communication Technology System Maintenance (ICTSM), Electronic Mechanic, Carpenter & Fitter, Need not apply.
iii. Candidates appearing in the final exam of ITI can also apply but they are required to attach copy of Bonafide certificate issued by Head of the Institution. Applicants undergoing their course under semester system are required to pass their Last semester in First Attempt along with backlog papers of previous semesters if any & dully certified by Head of the institute.
10.Group “C”(8th Class Passed ): Rigger/ Welder (Gas & Electric:
8th Std. under (10 + 2) system Passed in first attempt with Science & Mathematics.
i) Securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General / OBC / SEBC/EWS / AFC / DIVYANG
ii) Pass Class for SC/ST in First Attempt Only. Though the qualifying criterion is 8th Std, the candidates with Higher qualification may also apply. However, eligibility will be based on 8th Std. qualification only.

Application Fee: Applicants from General (UR), OBC, SEBC, EWS & AFC Category will be required to pay Rs. 100/- + Bank charges as applicable, as application processing fees. SC, ST & PWDs Category candidates are exempted from payment of fees, however they have to upload valid caste and disability certificate, otherwise application will not be accepted.
Note:
1. In the academic year 2020-21 applications of SEBC category applicants will be considered in General (UR)) category only.
2. In a Pipe Fitter Trade, Additional 10 nos. Seats are reserved for H.I. (Deaf & Hearing Impaired) applicants.
3. ITI Passed candidates will not be allowed for Group ‘A’ & ‘C’ and If at any stage of selection process it is found that candidate either passed or appeared for ITI examination their candidature will be rejected without any information.
4. One Applicant will be eligible to Apply for Group ‘A’ & ‘C’ both but they are required to submit separate Application Form for each group. One Application will be considered for One Group Only.
5. Applicants belonging to OBC Category are required to submit their Caste certificate in prescribed format and Valid Non Creamy Layer (NCL) certificate issued by competent authority while applying for claiming relaxation otherwise their candidature will not be accepted.
6. Reservation for Persons with Disability is horizontal within the overall vacancies. Reservation has been provided to Persons with Benchmark Disabilities as per section 34 of “Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016” who suffer from not less than 40% of relevant disability and are certified by a Medical Board appointed by the Central/State Govt.. (If not Attached their Application will be considered in General Category & eligibility will be decided as per General Category)
7. Children of Armed Forces Personnel must upload copy of the Service Certificate of his / her parent (If not uploaded their Application will be considered in General Category& eligibility will be decided as per General Category)
8. Guidelines for DIVYANG (Person with Special / Different ability) using a Scribe :
9. Those candidates who are visually impaired or affected by cerebral palsy with loco-motor impairment and whose writing speed is affected can use own scribe at own cost during the online examination. In all such cases where a scribe is used, the following rules will apply:
a. The candidate will have to arrange his / her own scribe at his/her own cost.
b. The scribe may be from any academic stream.(for generalist discipline)
c. The scribe should be from an academic stream different from that stipulated for the post (for specialist discipline).
d. The Scribe should not be an active-employee of MDL or apprentice of The MDL or any other organization / establishment.
e. Both the candidate as well as scribe will have to give a suitable undertaking confirming that the scribe fulfils all the stipulated eligibility criteria for a scribe mentioned above. Further in case it later transpires that he/she did not fulfill any laid down eligibility criteria or suppressed material facts, the candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled, irrespective of the result of the examination.
f. Those candidates who use a scribe shall be eligible for compensatory time of 20 minutes for every hour of the examination.
g. The same scribe cannot be used by more than one candidate. In addition, the scribe arranged by the candidate should not be a candidate for the examination. If violation of the above is detected at any stage of the process, candidature of both the candidate and the scribe will be cancelled. Candidates eligible for and who wish to use the services of a scribe in the examination should invariably carefully indicate the same in the online application form. Any subsequent request may not be favorably entertained.
10. ationality: A candidate applying for recruitment in the Company must be either- (a) a citizen of India, or (b) a subject of Nepal, or (c) a subject of Bhutan, or (d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or (e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
Additional Information:
1. MDL being the Government of India Undertaking under the Ministry of Defense, It is mandatory to submit the Police Verification Report issued by the ‘Competent Authority’ (Commissioner of Police/Superintendent of Police) of the area of residence of the candidates before joining the Training. Such selected candidates will be given three weeks time to submit the PVR compulsorily from the date of joining. Failure to submit the above report may lead to the cancellation of admission.
2. It may please be noted that, the monthly amount of stipend payable to the Selected Apprentice is directly credited in his/her Saving Bank Account, where ECS facility is available. Selected candidates should therefore have a saving Bank Account in his/her name where the amount of stipend can be credited directly by ECS every month. No Cheque will be issued by The Company.
3. Saving account should be opened in a Public Sector / Private Sector Schedule Banks. It may please be noted that, As per the directives from Income Tax Department Every Individual receiving payment from the company must have a PAN (Permanent Account Number). It is thus mandatory for the selected candidates to have their PAN card. In the absence of which Income tax will be deducted from the Stipend Amount as per the prevailing Income Tax Rate. The Candidates are therefore advised to obtain PAN Card from the Concern Authority at the earliest.
4. No Hostel accommodation will be provided by the company.
5. Stipend rates for Trade apprentices shall be as notified by Govt. Of India from time to time. (For present applicable rates please refer Gazette of India REGD No. 33004/99 dated 25-09-2019)
6. Apprentices are entitled for maximum 12 days Casual Leave in a calendar year. Casual Leave not availed shall stand lapsed at the end of the calendar year. Medical Leave up to 15 days for each year of training shall be granted to an Apprentice who is unable to attend training owing to illness.
7. The unavailed medical leave may be allowed to accumulate up to a maximum of 40 days. A female apprentice with one surviving child may be granted maternity leave for 90 days without stipend and apprenticeship period shall be extended accordingly.
8. The Apprentice engaged are supposed to put minimum attendance of 200 days (including days in Practical and Related Instruction / Theory Classes) per year of training so as to decide eligibility for All India Trade Test as per prevailing rules.
9. The Apprentices are governed with Company's Standing Orders as applicable to the MDL employees.
10. The selected Male & Female apprentices will be required to strictly follow a dress code as defined by MDL while reporting for training in the Company
11. The decision of the Management regarding selection will be final. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate for selection

Selection Procedure :
1. Selection for Apprenticeship will be completed in Three Stages, First Stage i.e.
2. Online Examination (Computer based test): only Eligible Candidates in Group A, B & C will be called for Online Examination (Computer based examination). The Online Examination will consist 100 Number of Multiple Choice questions based on the below mentioned syllabus of Minimum Qualification of respective Groups (i.e. Class 10th Pass for Group A, ITI Pass for Group B & Class 8th Pass for Group C) and Examination will be of 2 Hours duration. Examination center will be in Mumbai only
i. Group A – 10th Class Passed, Trade: Electrician, Fitter, Pipe Fitter & Structural Fitter - Total No. of Questions - 100
ii. Group B - I.T.I. Passed, Trade: I.C.T.S.M., Electronic Mechanic, Carpenter, Structural Fitter (Ex. ITI Fitter) - Total No. of Questions - 100
iii. Group C: 8th Class Passed, Trade: Rigger & Welder (G&E), - Total No. of Questions - 100
3. Examination Centre for Online Examination: The Tentative List of online examination centres are as under: 1. Mumbai 2. Nagpur 3. Pune 4. Aurangabad
4. Candidate should choose the name of the Centre while applying online, where he/she desires to take the examination. However, MDL reserves the right to cancel any of the examination centre and/or add some other centres, at its discretion, depending upon the response, administrative feasibility etc. MDL also reserves the right to allot the candidate to any centre other than one he/she has opted for.
5. No request for change of centre for examination shall be entertained
6. Candidate will appear for the examination at the allotted centre at his/her own risk and expenses and MDL will not be responsible for any injury or losses etc. of any nature
7. Any unruly behaviour/ misbehaviour in the examination hall may result in cancellation of candidature, disqualification from future exam conducted MDL.
8. Second Stage will be of Medical Examination & Document Verification:- For this the candidates securing maximum marks (each Group & Category wise) in Online Exam would only be called for Medical Examination & Document Verification, Schedule for Eligible Candidates in Group A, B & C will be declared with the result of online examination.
9. Medical Examination will be done by Medical Officer of the Company (If any candidate is advised for specialist opinion i.e. X-ray, Blood Test etc., it will be at their cost) Selection for next stage will be subjected to declaration of fitness by Medical Officer.
10. Third Stage will be Trade Allotment; for which selected candidates after Medical Examination & Document Verification would only be called in Order of merit marks obtained in the Online Exam and at the time of allotment will be informed regarding availability / vacancy of their choice as per group & category wise merit order. In case of absenteeism or non-acceptance of available merit seat, candidature will be rejected immediately & next available candidate in the order of merit will be called.
11. After selection of the choice by the candidate, he/she will be required to fill Contract Registration in the presence of Mother / Father and Guardian for joining apprenticeship training. After selection of the available seat of the respective trade, any change in the choice will not be allowed.
