1. Position: Assistant Professor

A. Essential Qualification & Experience
4. Assistant Professor of Anatomy:
a. Essential Qualification: Same as mentioned in Professor of Anatomy.
b. Experience: Medical Three years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution in Anatomy after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD/MS in Anatomy or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
c. Non-Medical Three years teaching and/or research experience in the discipline/subject in a recognized institution/universities after obtaining the Ph.D. degree.
5. Assistant Professor of Anaesthesiology; Same as mentioned in Professor of Anaesthesiology
Experience: Three years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution in Anaesthesiology after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD in Anaesthesiology or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
6. Assistant Professor of Cardiology: A Medical qualification included in the first or second Schedule or Part II of the third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in part II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in Section13 (3) of the Act.) ii. DM in Cardiology (two years or three years or five years recognized course) or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto;
7. Experience: One year teaching and, or research experience in a recognized institution in Cardiology after obtaining the qualifying degree of DM in Cardiology (two years or five years recognized course after MBBS) or a qualifying recognized equivalent thereto. However, no experience is necessary for the candidates possessing the three years recognized degree of DM in Cardiology or qualification recognized equivalent thereto
8. Assistant Professor of Dermatology (Skin & STD): A Medical qualification included in the first or second Schedule or Part II of the third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in part II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in Section13 (3) of the Act.) ii. A Postgraduate qualification, e.g. MD in Dermatology (Skin & STD) or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline or subject;
9. Experience: Three years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution in Dermatology (Skin & STD) after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD in Dermatology (Skin & STD) or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
10. Assistant Professor of EMSD: Same as mentioned in Professor of EMSD
11. Experience: Three years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution in Emergency Medicine after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD in Emergency Medicine or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
12. Assistant Professor of ENT: A Medical qualification included in the first or second Schedule or Part II of the third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in part II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in Section13 (3) of the Act.) A Postgraduate qualification, e.g. MS in ENT or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline or subject;
13. Experience: Three years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution in ENT after obtaining the qualifying degree of MS in ENT or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto
14. Assistant Professor of Geriatric Medicine: A Medical qualification included in the first or second Schedule or Part II of the third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in part II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in Section13 (3) of the Act.) A Postgraduate qualification, e.g. MD in Geriatric Medicine or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline or subject;
15. Experience: Three years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution in Geriatric Medicine after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD in Geriatric Medicine or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.

17. Experience: Three years teaching and/or research experience in the discipline/subject in a recognized institution/universities after obtaining the Ph.D. degree.
18. Assistant Professor of Medicine: Same as mentioned in Professor of Medicine
19. Experience: Three years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution in Medicine after obtaining the qualifying degree of MD in Medicine or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto.
20. Assistant Professor of P&SM: A Medical qualification included in the first or second Schedule or Part II of the third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in part II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in Section13 (3) of the Act.) A Postgraduate qualification, e.g. MD in Community Medicine or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline or subject;

11. Essential Qualification: Post Graduate Qualifications, i.e. Master’s Degree in Medical Education & Telemedicine or allied subjects. A Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.) from a recognized University/institute.
12. Experience: Fourteen years teaching and/or research experience in the discipline/subject in a recognized institution/universities after obtaining the Ph.D. degree

14. Essential Qualification: A Medical qualification included in the first or second Schedule or Part II of the third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in part II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in Section13 (3) of the Act.) ii. A Postgraduate qualification, e.g. MD in Medicine or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto in the respective discipline or subject;

16. Position: Professor of Medical Gastroenterology
17. Essential Qualification: A Medical qualification included in the first or second Schedule or Part II of the third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in part II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in Section13 (3) of the Act.) ii. DM in Medical Gastroenterology (two years or three years or five years recognized course) or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto;

Experience: Twelve years teaching and, or research experience in a recognized institution in Medical Gastroenterology after obtaining the qualifying degree of DM in Medical Gastroenterology (two years or five years course recognized after MBBS) or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto. (or) Eleven years teaching and, or research experience in a recognized institution in Medical Gastroenterology for the candidates possessing three years recognized degree of DM in Medical Gastroenterology or a qualification recognized equivalent thereto
19. Position: Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology
20. Essential Qualification: A Medical qualification included in the first or second Schedule or Part II of the third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in part II of the third schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in Section13 (3) of the Act.) 1. All the posts carry usual allowances as admissible to Central Government Employees as per Government of India from time to time.
2. The selected candidates for JIPMER, Karaikal will be posted to work at JIPMER, Karaikal only and they will not have any right to seek their transfer to JIPMER, Puducherry.
