Qualification Details:
The following requisite technical qualification is required for MM/POM along with all necessary certificates and six months rank sailing experience in last 3 years as MM/POM on vessel GRT more than 500.
1. Post Name: Machinist Mechanical (MM), Trainee Machinist Mechanical (Tr.MM), Deck Fitter (POM) and Trainee Deck Fitter (Tr. POM) on contract basis (50 nos. of vacancies).
2. Eligibility: Minimum 6 months sailing experience in last 3 years from date of selection the rank of Machinist Mechanical/ Deck fitter on vessel GRT more than 500. Must have technical qualifications as mentioned belowCandidate must be reported well from his previous vessel/ employer Candidate must be medically fit for sea service as per present M.S. Medical Rules 2010.
Salary: Rs. 10,000/- Per Month
Age: Maximum age limit is 45 years for General candidates, 48 years for OBC candidates and 50 years for SC/ST candidates.
Document:
a) Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from recognized polytechnic or National Trade Certificate in the trade of Machinist Mechanical/Marine Machinist Mechanical or Diesel / Motor Mechanic or Machinist or Welder issued by National Council of Training in Vocational Trade, Ministry of Labour, Government of India (NCTVT) or by the Industrial Training Institute of State Government (ITI). OR Two years Trade Apprentice certificate from marine workshop in the trade of Machinist Mechanical or Diesel / Motor Mechanic or Machinist.
b) Candidate should be proficient in any of these below. i) Welding and Cutting ii) Fabrication and proficiency in fitting. 2 iii) Lathe, drill and machine operation. iv) Ship related maintenance work.
c) Candidate must be in possession of Indian CDC & Passport, which should be valid for at least One year from date of selection.
d) Candidate must be in possession of PAN Card & INDOS NO.
e) Candidate may be in possession of Security Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties (STSDSD) from DG approved Institute.
f) Candidate must be in possession of 4 mandatory certificate as per STCW 2010 from DG approved Institutes. I. Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting. II. Personal Survival Techniques. III. Elementary First Aid. IV. Personal Safety and Social Responsibility.
g) Candidate may be in possession of Helicopter Underwater Escape Training course. Otherwise, candidate has to do this course after selection if posted in OSVs.
h) Candidate may be in possession of valid Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) from his native place issued by an officer not below the rank of superintendant of police. Such PCC shall have been issued within a period not exceeding 3 months from date of selection. Otherwise candidate have to bring this PCC after selection.

Selection Procedure:
After verification of all documents & selection in interview, candidates will be sent for medical examination. Preference will be given to the candidates who have worked and sailed on vessels having more than 500 GRT for maximum period as Machinist Mechanical & Deck Fitter ( POM).
