Qualification Details:
1. Post Name: FIRE OPERATOR IN THE WEST BENGAL FIRE SERVICES UNDER THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES, GOVT. OF W.B. – ONE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED FIFTY TWO (157 for OBC-A, 74 for OBC-B, 309 for S.C., 93 for S.T., 32 for Meritorious Sportsperson and 80 for Ex-Serviceman)
2 .Pay: (P.B.-2) Rs. 5,400/- - Rs. 25,200/- with Grade Pay Rs. 2,600/-.
3. Essential Qualifications: Must have passed Madhyamik examination or its equivalent from any Govt. recognized Board or Institution;
4. Desirable qualifications: (i) Minimum 1(one) year experience in fire fighting in any Govt. department or organisation or Public Sector Undertaking or autonomous bodies; (ii) A certificate from Industrial Training Institute in any of the following disciplines – (A) Civil Engineering; (B) Electrical Engineering; (C) Mechanical Engineering; (D) Automobile Engineering; (iii) Swimming certificate from any Government recognized club or institute;
5. Physical Measurement: Candidates of all categories (except Gorkhas, Garwalies, Rajbansis and Other Hill Tribes) - 5’6” or 167.6 cms (Height) & 32” or 81.3 cms. with expansion of 2” or 5 cms. (32” or 81.3 cms. with expansion of 2” or 5 cms.) & Candidates of Gorkhas, Garwalies, Rajbansis and Other Hill Tribes - 5’3” or 160 cms (Height) & 81.3 cms. with expansion of 2” or 5 cms. (Chest)
Age: Not less than 18 years and not more than 27 years on the 01.01.2018.
Application Fee: Rs. 110/- (Rupees one hundred ten) only. S.C./S.T. candidates of West Bengal and Persons with disabilities (P.W.D.) having physical disability of 40% and above are not required to pay any fee

1 .All the degrees/diplomas/certificates mentioned in the advertisement must have been obtained from recognized Universities/Institutions.Where experience of a number of years is prescribed as an item of qualification this would mean only experience/research experience gained in full time employment/research in the relevant field within the closing date of receipt of applications. [Certificate(s) from the Head(s) of the Organisation(s)/Department(s) or Competent Authority for the entire experience claimed, clearly mentioning the duration of employment (date, month and year) and field of experience indicating basic pay and consolidated pay must be obtained from the appropriate authority. 2 .The benefits of reservation of vacancies and upper age concession upto 5 years are admissible only to S.C. and S.T. candidates of West Bengal and upto 3 years to O.B.C. (category ’A’ & ‘B’) candidates of West Bengal. S.C., S.T. and B.C. candidates of other States may apply for unreserved vacancies as general candidates. 4. All requisite certificates regarding educational qualifications, proof of age, other relevant experience certificates and other requisite documents must be furnished as and when required by the Commission.
Selection Procedure:
The posts in the rank of Fire Operator shall be filled up by selection through direct recruitment on the basis of a written examination, physical measurement test, endurance test and personality test to be conducted by the Commission. The candidates who qualify in the Written Examination shall, thereafter, be called for Physical Measurement Test and the candidates who qualify Physical Measurement Test shall appear in the Endurance Test and those who qualify in Endurance Test shall be called for Personality Test.

However, the Challan for making the payment in bank should be generated by the 3 rd July , 2018
