Qualification Details:
Qualification:
(i) The candidate must have possessed M.B.B.S. or equivalent Degree from a Medical College or Medical Institution recognised by the Medical Council of India.
(ii) The candidate must have a valid registration certificate under the Odisha Medical "Registration Rules 1965"; and
(iii) Possessed required conversion certificates recognised by Medical Council of India (MCI) in case of candidate having Degrees from University of Foreign Countries.
Age: A candidate must have attained the age of 21(twenty one) years and must not be above the age of 32 (thirty two) years on the 1st day of January-2017, i.e. he/ she must have been borne not earlier than 2nd January 1985 and not later than 1st January 1996. Age relaxation shall be as per Government Rules prescribed for the purpose.
Application Fee: A candidate is required to pay a non-refundable and non-adjustable fee of Rs.300/ -(Rupees three hundred) only. Candidate belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe of Odisha and Persons with Disability (whose permanent disability is more than 40%) are exempted from payment of this fee.
Documents Required:
i. Candidates are required to submit along with the printout/hard copy of online applications, true copies of the following certificates and documents duly attested by the candidate or a Gazetted Officer or Notary Public. The candidates are also required to mention on each document "submitted by me" and put their full signature and date on the same. They must not attach original certificates with their applications.
ii. Programme for verification of original certificates & mark sheets etc of the provisionally shortlisted candidates will be notified after the Written Examination. The shortlisted candidates shall have to bring with them the original certificates & mark sheets etc. of the attested copies for verification on the date fixed by the Commission.
iii. If a candidate fails to furnish any of the original certificates and documents in respect of the attested copies submitted with the application by him /her, for verification on the date fixed by the commission, his/her candidature will be rejected.
iv. H.S.C. or equivalent certificate in support of declaration of age issued by the Concerned Board/ Council;
v. +2/Intermediate/Higher Secondary Examination Certificate issued by the concerned Board/ Council;
vi. M.B.B.S. Degree Certificate issued by the recognized University;
vii. Mark-lists in support of all the aforesaid Examinations (i.e. H.S.C.to M.B.B.S) passed including fail marks, if any, issued by the concerned Board/ Council/ University;
Selection Procedure:
The selection of candidates for recruitment to the posts of Medical Officer (Assistant Surgeon) will be made on the basis of written test and career marking. The career marking will be for 30% (10% each for H.S.C./ 10th class, +2/12th and M.B.B.S.) and 70% for written Test

iv. Candidates must apply online through the website of OPSC http://opsconline.gov.in. Applications received through any other mode would not be accepted and be summarily rejected.
v. Before filling up the online application form, the candidates must go through the following documents available at http:/ / opsconline.gov.in.
vi. Candidates are required to send the Printout/ Hard copy of the filled in Online Application Form duly signed under the declaration along with OPSC copy of Fee deposit Challan (wherever applicable) and requisite certificates and documents etc. as provided under para-11 of this advertisement, by Registered Post/ Speed Post/ Courier Service to the Secretary, Odisha Public Service Commission, 19, Dr. P.K. Parija Road, Cuttack-753001, so as to reach the same in OPSC on or before 29.01.2018. Application without signature under the declaration will be liable for rejection.
vii. The envelope containing the printout/ hard copy of the online application along with requisite certificates and documents etc. must be super scribed "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF MEDICAL OFFICER (ASSISTANT SURGEON)".
